2015 NOAC Patch on BSA Uniform

Did you get a NOAC 2015 promo patch? Did you know you can wear it on your uniform shirt?

The BSA has granted the Order of the Arrow one-time permission to wear the promotion patch, where the National Scout Jamboree or World Jamboree patch is worn on the Scout uniform, through 2015.

Normally, that area is for National and World Jamboree emblems only, but until 2016 – you can place the NOAC 2015 emblem in that spot.

FYI – you may want to place it a little higher than is indicated in the image below. The standard for Jamboree emblems is to leave enough space for a name tag.

Vigil Committee Meeting at June Ordeal

There will be a Vigil Committee Meeting at 1:00pm on Saturday June 6th – right after lunch during June Ordeal.

We will need a representative from each Chapter to sit in on this meeting. If you are on the Eligibility List then you are not allowed to sit in on the meeting, as we may be discussing a nomination for you. Chapter representatives must be either ineligible for Vigil Honor or have already earned Vigil Honor.

Chapter representatives must be a Youth, not an adult. However an adult can be in present at the time of nominations. Once voting starts however, they will be kindly asked to leave.

Chapter Advisers and Chiefs, please start now in finding a representative. Once you have one, use the form below to send an email at Matt Cook, our Vigil Committee Chair. Title it with your chapter name and vigil committee member. Send me their name and email so that I can keep them updated.

Nominations are still open up until June Ordeal. If you have someone you would like to nominate get it in ASAP.

2015 Vigil Honor Nominations

The Vigil Honor is unique, it is the highest honor that an Order of the Arrow Lodge can bestow on its members. The Vigil honor is not earned; it is given to honor someone for going above and beyond the description of his or her position in scouting, for the greater good the lodge and Scouting.

Under no circumstances should tenure in Scouting or the Order of the Arrow be considered as reason enough for a Vigil Honor recommendation.

To be eligible for consideration for the Vigil Honor, an Arrowman must have been a Brotherhood member for at least two years at the time of the Lodge Vigil selection meeting; and a member in good standing with the Piedmont Council, BSA and Eswau Huppeday Lodge #560 (registered with dues paid).

All brothers in the list below are verified eligible for nomination of the Vigil Honor. They are grouped by Chapter. Both adults and youth can be nominated.

Nominations must be received by May 31, 2015 to be considered.
