2018 Dixie Fellowship

January 7, 2018 By eswau.net

Dixie Fellowship will be held April 27th-29th at Ann Spring Close Greenway in Fort Mill, SC. That weekend will be one of the highlights of the year for our lodge as we join together with our brothers from Southern Region Area 5 for fellowship that will be jammed packed with events: the Quest for the Golden Arrow, Ceremonial, Dance, and Sing competitions.

The theme this year is “Those Who Chose You Need You” to encourage Arrowmen in SR5 to remember our rich heritage while focusing on our bright future The goal is for each Arrowman to create his or her own legacy.

Here’s some info that will help you in planning for your trip to Dixie:

Camping at Dixie
We will be assigned a campsite prior to arrival. We will update this post when we learn where our campsite will be located. Restroom facilities will be available throughout camp. Shower facilities will NOT BE available.

Dining at Dixie
All meals will be prepared at the camp’s Dining Hall. We will dine in the designated areas in and around the Dining Hall.

In keeping with the Outdoor Code and Leave No Trace ethic, they are making a conscious effort to make Dixie Fellowship a “green” event, reducing the use of styrofoam and other difficult to recycle materials. Each delegate will be provided with a plastic mug/cup in their “ditty bag.” This bottle will be your meal ticket and should be used for beverages.

Parking
There will be very limited parking available. Please carpool as much as possible in order to conserve space. Its been requested that each lodge plan to bring no more than one vehicle for every four delegates.

Upon arrival at camp, each delegation will offload their gear at a designated area. The campsites will be a reasonable distance from parking so you may want to just backpack in from there.

Communications
Anne Springs Close Greenway has very good cell reception throughout most of the property for most major carriers.

  • Chariot Race
  • Fire Building
  • Knot-Tying Relay
  • Tent Pitching
