2026 CIS Info & Registration

The 2026 Carolinas Indian Seminar will be hosted by Eswau Huppeday Lodge at Mitchell Community College from October 2 – 4, 2026. Instruction in Native American dancing, drumming, singing, crafts, clothing, and historical traditions is included. Pow Wows will be held on both Friday and Saturday nights. Food will be provided by the Eswau Huppeday Cook Team and will include B-L-D and Cracker Barrel on Saturday.

This year, CIS will feature a dance competition for youth under 21 years of age. Styles being judged include women’s Fancy Shawl, Jingle, and Southern Traditional, and men’s Fancy Feather, Grass, Straight, Northern Traditional, and Prairie Chicken.

Registered Scouts and Scouters are welcome to stay on site both Friday and Saturday nights. Lodging will be provided in classrooms near the dance arena with separate rooms for youth/adult males/females. ONLY REGISTERED SCOUTS may stay onsite – there will be no exceptions, and all scouts who are staying onsite must provide Parts A and B of the BSA Health Form. All adults must have proof of current SYT training.

The cost for the event is free for Instructors, $20 for Eswau Huppeday Lodge Members, and $45 for Delegates.

Code of Conduct Eswau Huppeday Lodge
The success or failure of Eswau Huppeday Lodge depends on the conduct of each individual brother that attends. As a Scout and an Arrowman, I understand and will observe all rules and regulations of the Piedmont Council, the Order of the Arrow, the Boy Scouts of America, and will observe the reasonable demands made of me. As a member of the Order of the Arrow, I will:
1. Observe the Scout Law, Scout Oath, and the Obligation of the Order of the Arrow.
2. Wear my officially designated uniform as required throughout the event, specifically during travel to and from the event, during all ceremonies or shows, during Saturday evening supper, and during the chapel service/business meeting.
3. Attend the planned and general training sessions.
4. Confine the trading and swapping of Scout related items to free periods and in designated areas only.
5. Be personally responsible for the breakage, damage, or loss of property.
6. Observe quiet hours and lights-out hours.
7. Keep my quarters clean and dispose of trash in the proper places.
8. Register and pay for all events that I attend.
9. Allow no unregistered person to occupy my quarters.
10. Shirts and shoes will be worn at all times in accordance with BSA policy.
11. No alcohol or illegal drugs will be allowed on camp property.
12. Observe BSA tobacco use policy. .
13. Not to leave camp without permission of the event adult leadership.
14. Remember that I am a guest of Eswau Huppeday Lodge, of Piedmont Council, and Camp Bud Schiele.
15. Park only in designated areas unless approved. Designated areas include the activity field and the
parking lot. See the adult leadership for other approved parking or driving while at camp.
16. Abide by the BSA Guide to Safe Scouting.
The Boy Scouts of America prohibits the use of alcoholic beverages and controlled substances at encampments or activities on property owned and/or operated by the Boy Scouts of America, or at any activity involving participation of youth members. Adult leaders should support the attitude that young adults are better off without tobacco and may not allow the use of tobacco products at any BSA activity involving youth participants.
All Scouting functions, meetings, and activities should be conducted on a smoke-free basis, with smoking areas located away from all participants.

August Ordeal is scheduled for August 7 – 9, 2026, at Camp Bud Schiele. The cost for the Ordeal is $52 for candidates and $25 for brothers (a $1-2 convenience fee will be added at checkout.) This will be a great weekend of service to our camp. Come join us as we welcome new brothers into our Order. The August Ordeal is also an opportunity for you to seal your membership in the OA by completing Brotherhood. Please make plans to join us for a weekend of service, fun, and fellowship!

2026 Vigil Honor Nomination Form

Order of the Arrow Vigil Honor Nomination

Vigil Honor Nominations for 2026 are closed. Join us at the August Ordeal to learn who was selected this year!

The Vigil Honor is the highest honor that the Order of the Arrow can bestow upon its members for service to lodge, council, and Scouting. Membership cannot be won by a person’s conscious endeavors.

The Vigil Honor is a high mark of distinction and recognition reserved for those Arrowmen who, by reason of exceptional service, personal effort, and unselfish interest, have made distinguished contributions beyond the immediate responsibilities of their position of office to one or more of the following:

Lodge
Order of the Arrow
Scouting community
Scout Camp

Under no circumstances should tenure in Scouting or the Order of the Arrow be considered as reason enough for a Vigil Honor recommendation.

Any member of the Order of the Arrow registered in Scouting and in good standing in a regularly chartered lodge is eligible for recommendation to the National Order of the Arrow Committee for elevation to the Vigil Honor provided that, at the time of the recommendation, the individual has been a Brotherhood member for a minimum of two years. A lodge may nominate a maximum of two percent of their registered Arrowmen once a year, through the Vigil Honor petition. At least 50 percent of all nominated must be under 21 at the time of nomination.

2026 Spring Fellowship

Registration is now available for Spring Fellowship 2026. It’ll be a fun weekend with fellowship, training cells, and gourmet food prepared by the Eswau Cook Team. The event will be held March 20 – 22 at Camp Bud Schiele. Don’t forget to bring your BSA Health Form, parts A and B. Reigster today to join us for Spring Fellowship at Camp Bud Schiele.

The cost for the event is $26 (plus $1.00 transaction fee if paying online.)
