Fall Fellowship Cancelled
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we will not be able to hold Fall Fellowship.
The pandemic has brought unprecedented uncertainty, financial challenges, and impact to our daily lives. The leadership of the lodge recognizes that we’ve been looking forward to Fall Fellowship but the health and safety of our brothers is our utmost concern.

Dixie Fellowship Canceled
Brothers,
After input from the leadership of our member lodges and after much deliberation, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 section conclave – Carolina OA Conference – scheduled for August 28-30, 2020. The next section conclave is scheduled for April 23-25, 2021 at Camp Daniel Boone.
We want to thank our youth leaders and adult advisers for the insights and guidance shared with us. The primary issues we heard had to do with health concerns and travel distances. What was clear from numerous communications is that each of our lodges wants to “re-open” but the general feeling was that having a small re-opening event at a very familiar local council camp is the way everyone feels comfortable – and people did not feel comfortable with this conclave due primarily to travel distance and related complexities.
National OA rules provide that, upon cancellation of the conclave, we are charged with scheduling a virtual-type election of new section officers within 30 days. We will provide more details in the near future, but our intention is to schedule it for some time during that weekend of August 28-30 when our conclave was formerly scheduled. All candidates for any section office must submit a letter of approval from the Scout Executive to the Section Adviser, Mac McLean, by Wednesday, August 26, at 5 pm ET.
Other related issues, including conclave expenses already incurred, refunds available to lodges, and memorabilia purchases and distribution are being worked through and will be communicated in the near future.
In Wimachtendienk,
Hunter Hackett, Section Chief
Mac McLean, Section Adviser
