American Indian Affairs Kickoff 2016

December 7, 2015 By eswau.net

aia kickoff

Eswau Huppeday will host an American Indian Affairs Kickoff on the day of  Winter Banquet – Saturday January 2, 2016.

We’ll meet at 1:30pm at the First United Methodist Church in Hickory, NC, as one large group and then break off into teams, which will allow everyone to experience all the different aspects of the AIA in our lodge.

Newcomers to AIA can expect insightful group work sessions while retuning members can improve their performance and help guide others.

We want to have as much attendance as possible so that we can have a great year. So come out sing, dance, make regalia, and participate in ceremonies.

#DareToDo, 100 Days Later

November 18, 2015 By eswau.net

#DareToDo 100 Days Later

#DareToDo, 100 Days Later

Brothers,

In the 100 days since the 2015 National Order of the Arrow Conference, you have embraced my #DareToDo in some absolutely incredible ways. Your posts have encouraged me. Your service has inspired me. And I’m not the only one.

In fact, over the last three months, people – from every corner of the globe – accepted the dare. And millions more witnessed the goodwill that your service created. The impact you helped make cannot be understated:

48,710 people participated in the dare through Facebook.

1,343,577 people saw posts created by #DareToDo. This says nothing of the millions more who saw the posts made by each of you.

25,551 dares were completed via Twitter, which were seen by 12,664,098 people.

Together, we’ve started a movement to make service a daily habit, and in doing so, have made the world a better place. Continue to look for posts tagged with #DareToDo on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to be inspired toward service.

Although 100 days have come and gone, our work does not end here. We must continue to share willingly, to serve readily, and to lead humbly if we are to fulfill our admonition.

I know the virtues behind the dare will guide my actions for many days to come. I sincerely hope they will guide yours, too.

Mindful of our admonition,

Alexander C. Call
2015 National Chief

LLD Is On This Weekend

October 2, 2015 By eswau.net

LLD Is On Like Donkey Kong This Weekend

Lodge Leadership Development is still a go for this weekend at Camp Bud Schiele. The area is expecting a lot of rain, and many other events are shutting down but not LLD!

This is an important weekend for training and planning for the lodge, so we are proceeding as planned.

Here’s some important things to know for the weekend:

  • We do have access to staff cabins and other buildings on camp for you to stay in due to the heavy rain in the forecast. (In case you’re a delicate flower.)
  • Breakfast will not be served on Saturday or Sunday mornings but there will be dry cereal available. Bring your own breakfast if dry cereal ain’t your thang.
  • This is a WEEKEND event. Plan to stay the entire weekend.
  • The always awesome Eswau Huppeday Cook Team will be providing lunch and dinner on Saturday. (Thanks Cook Team!)

If you were not planning on coming due to a conflicting event, but that event has been cancelled due to the forecast . . . lucky you! You can now come to Lodge Leadership Development!

Join us this weekend for the training you need and to add your voice in the planning for the future of our lodge.
