Don’t Forget – You must Register for Beaver Day this Year

Beaver Day is coming up on March 3rd and this year the lodge is providing breakfast and lunch on Saturday for a small fee of $5.00 but you must register by Friday, February 24th. You can register online now at piedmontcouncilbsa.org/beaverday2018

We’re offering this as a great camping opportunity to all troops in the council. For $5.00 you get breakfast, lunch, and a patch on Saturday – and you can camp both Friday and Saturday nights if you wish. Register now and make the weekend of March 2-4 one of fellowship and service to our camp.

Brothers – even if you’re only coming for the day, you need to register for Beaver Day. While everybody got something to eat last year, we did run out of food with the record attendance. This year with the lodge providing breakfast and lunch on Saturday, it’s imperative that you register by Friday, February 24th.

After breakfast on Saturday morning, we will meet at the quarter master building at 9:00am to start work and we plan to finish another great day of cheerful service by 4:00pm. Please bring shovels, wheelbarrows, leaf blowers, rakes, etc. – and wear your work clothes.

Possible projects include:

  • Build 20 picnic tables – OA shelter
  • Rotate Big Fans – Dining Hall
  • Repair vent screens on Nature Lodge
  • Change AC unit – Health Lodge
  • Clean up all junk from boating area
  • Seal tent platforms
  • Cut down brush in front of Smith Lodge
  • Pine needles and leaves off latrine roofs/clean sky light panel
  • Scrub swimming and diving dock
  • Clear out brush behind Trading Post
  • Replace 6×6’s around flag poles
  • Spread gravel on walk way between dining hall and flag poles
  • Replaces screens in main shower house
  • Clean debris from ditches behind trading post and along road from handicraft to Trail Head
  • Clean windows in Dining Hall inside and outside
  • Scrub mattresses – 2 story barn
  • Assemble canopy frames to see how many complete sets are available- 2 story barn
  • Sort canvas tents (good and bad), fold and stack accordingly- 2 story barn
  • Clean staff lounge (sweep, mop, wash windows, clean washer and dryers, clean bathrooms, remove cob webs)
  • Clean leader leaders lodge (sweep, mop, wash windows, clean bathrooms, clean kitchen, remove cob webs)
  • Clean and organize Trail Head program area
