Lodge Bead System

Eswau Huppeday Lodge Bead System

Officially adopted in 1978, the lodge bead system was created to foster greater participation and attendance at Chapter, Lodge, Section, and National Order of the Arrow events. The beads are worn strung on leather string, in an arrangement decided upon by the wearer. Brothers are entitled to wear the beads which represent the events they’ve attended.

You will receive a free bead at each event, proving your attendance. If you need replacements for lost or broken beads, they are usually for sale during normal Lodge store hours, and you may obtain a listing of eligible events and their corresponding beads then.

In addition, each Chapter has its own uniquely colored arrowhead, which is placed below the beads as the first item on your string. You may paint the sign of your membership level, Ordeal, Brotherhood, or Vigil on each your arrowhead.
