2018 Carolina’s Indian Seminar
Eswau Huppeday Lodge 560 is pleased once again to invite you, your lodge, or group to participate in the annual Order of the Arrow, Carolina’s Indian Seminar. We’re looking forward to an excellent weekend of instruction, dance, crafts, fun, and fellowship.
Date: Friday, January 219th to Sunday, January 21st, 2018 (Plan to arrive no earlier than 5:00 p.m. on Friday)
Size Limit: The College has set the limit to 400 participants. Register now to guarantee your space!
Registration: All the registration forms are available on the Eswau Huppeday website.
Deadline: Registration must be postmarked by January 9th, 2018. Registrations will be taken on a first-come first- serve basis. Please use the registration forms linked above and provide all requested information. Registrations and payments should be mailed to the address shown on the form. Registrations after this date may not be guaranteed a meal ticket.
Fee includes meals, classes, Friday and Saturday powwows, information booklet, space for sleeping, and event patch.
Saturday Day Pass: $22
Fee includes classes, Saturday powwow, and event patch (no meals provided).
Saturday Day Pass w/Lunch : $28
Fee includes classes, Saturday powwow, event patch, and lunch.
Powwows Only Pass: $5
Fee provides access to campus after 5:00 pm for non-registered dancers and spectators. Children 5 and under are free but should still register.
Due to safety requirements, EVERYONE ON CAMPUS at any point of the day MUST BE REGISTERED and must wear their wristbands at all times. We need to be able to account for everyone at the event in case of an emergency. The registration desk will be located in the hallway outside of the Gym both Friday and Saturday. Please stop by to pick up your wristband and information packet. Additional patches will be available for sale at the registration table.

Most people staying offsite eat breakfast at the hotel and old friends have supper at a restaurant. We are trying to keep from increasing the event fee. One way to do this is to reduce the amount of food we throw away by having an accurate count for meals. Please indicate the meals you plan to eat on your registration form.
Make sure your group has gender appropriate two-deep leadership. BSA Policy will apply. Leaders are responsible for obtaining and keeping tour permits and medical releases for those in their group. Bring camping type chairs for use in the Gym for Friday and Saturday night dances. Security will enforce a 1:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. curfew Saturday and Sunday. Sleeping space on campus is limited, groups may be combined to best utilize available spaces. Hotels are available close by.
All vendor spaces will be located in the upstairs hallway. A vendor fee of $10 will be collected and vendors will be required to display their vendor certificate on their table/area. All vendors must contact Tammy Miller to verify their space and location.
Classes and Instructors:
We are in the process of lining up a staff of very knowledgeable instructors. We will have sessions on Traditional, Fancy, Grass, Straight, and Ladies dance and clothing. In addition, there will be sessions on beadwork, quillwork, bustle construction, drumming, OA ceremonies, and much more. If there are specific topics you would like to see

Please share this information with Arrowmen in your lodges that have a genuine interest in Indian craft and culture. Also, please invite all Indian Lore Explorer Posts in your council. Since the Continuing Ed Center can accommodate separate bathroom and sleeping facilities for ladies, we want to invite female family members and members of co-ed Posts also. We will be using the classrooms and gym for sleeping quarters. We look forward to seeing you at the Seminar.
